As you read this article, hundreds of people are tapping away at their computer (including you), searching for potential Internet home business opportunities. As they search they will, without a doubt, come across many fraudulent programs, otherwise known as scams. Some golden rules and tips to avoid being scammed are:
You won’t get rich by tomorrow.
That is a fact. No matter how compelling, no matter how persuasive a program or system may sound, if someone tells you can get rich overnight - avoid it, they are lying. If it were all that easy to make money online, we would all be rich, drive convertibles and never work again!
Email Spamming
The most popular internet scams today are spam emails where businesses or people say they need to transfer money to you from a foreign country. No one needs help transferring money anywhere, especially not from a random stranger they emailed. Would you give a stranger money (especially tes of thousands of dollars) to deposit into a foreign bank account?
Another popular email spam is the lottery. Everyone dreams of winning the lottery! Do not fall for the internet lottery emails. If you never entered a lottery then you will not get an email for one. If you win the lottery, they may knock on your door with a check or will tell you the winning lottery numbers on television, but not through email and especially not through one from a foreign country!
Repetitive Payments.
Nobody’s going to flood your PayPal account with money while you sleep for no reason or benefit to them. Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. Such programs that repetitively tell you how easy it is to earn money and all you have to do is refer 3 people to the program must surely be too amazing to be true. Make sure you look into what they are selling (ie what is the product)
“One time only offers”.
Genuine online businesses are ones that have been around for some time, are still around and would not bother with one time only offers to make you act on impulse. Remember any business opportunity that wants to recruit and expand should only want those that are serious and not those that act on impulse just because they felt pressured to sign up on the spot.
Do not always believe what you see.
Testimonials, amounts paid to date, ratings etc … they can all be anything but genuine. Make sure you read the testimonials,and do your own research by looking at third party reviews. Remember don’t always believe what the sales page says until you have done your own investigation.
